How to Pick Songs & Build Your Repertoire
Your choice of song can make or break your voice… or your performance.
Hey, it’s Kenogi here!
I recently sang at a speaker-training seminar at MBS convention center — I was caught unprepared the first time, and the song I picked based on a very logical speed-thinking process did NOT work well with the audience and the setting…
Fortunately, the second time one week later when I sang, they loved it!
It was the RIGHT song for me, the people, and the event.

If you’ve ever found yourself at a loss when your friends or family ask “can you sing something?”…
And find yourself wondering things like:
What songs should I be singing?
What key should I be singing my songs in?
How do I start building my repertoire?
This workshop will give you the essential knowledge and tools to start making YOUR list of songs!
Songs that suit YOU, your current vocal range & capabilities, and that your ideal audience will love!
We’ll Teach You How to Figure Out
-
As most people are only singing in the lower part of their full range, there's what you can do NOW, and what you can potentially achieve with functional voice training.
You'll learn how to change the key of the songs you want to sing now to fit what you currently can do, as you work on expanding your vocal capabilities. -
Learn how to figure out a song's range and key, and how to decide how many keys you need to reduce or increase it by to make it singable for you.
-
The best artistes out there are known for specific styles of singing and songs.
Engage in a guided exercise to figure out the best songs for you to perform from an artistic point of view. -
You need to start building your personal repertoire with songs that support your vocal development instead of going against what you're working towards.
Also, if you intend to perform, whether casually or professionally, you need to make a list of songs you know well and are confident in singing!Never get caught off-guard again whenever you're asked to "sing something"!
