Kenogi
[Vocal Evolution]
As the Founder and Director of Vocal Evolution, Kenogi spearheads the strategic vision and training methodology of the organization.
A specialist in vocal technique and mix (or mix voice), he is known for delivering rapid results, and is the one who singers with difficult and/or complicated struggles turn to for breakthroughs.
Having struggled with his own voice and singing for a considerable portion of his life, he relates with those who were not naturally born talented, and is passionate about helping others like him uncover their true potential.
Owen Li
[Guest Coach]
Owen Li is a singer-songwriter and vocal director of The Island Voices, the official choir for Singapore’s NDP 2022 and 2023, as well as Third Degree, which has performed for events such as the F1 Night Race and veteran singer-songwriter Dick Lee’s concerts.
A recipient of the Award for Academic Excellence from LASALLE College of the Arts where he studied Pop Vocal Performance, Owen is known for his expertise in riffs & runs and harmony.
The Approach
With a holistic view of the 3 broad aspects of singing, watch and/or join in as Kenogi and Owen assess and work with up to 6 singers. They will identify and tackle technique and artistry-related challenges with an evidence-based approach aimed at achieving tangible improvements in the least amount of time.
Workshop Structure
Day 1: Vocal Technique with Kenogi
Singing with stability and presence
Helping singers achieve their desired sound for the performance
Ensuring the song and key works most to the singers’ advantage
Day 2: Artistry with Owen
Exploring singers’ musical identity and helping their individuality shine through the performance
How to craft the story of a song through your vocal performance
Tasteful insertion of vocal embellishments e.g. riffs and ad-libs
Day 3: Vocal Technique x Artistry
Join both Kenogi and Owen as they consolidate learnings from Day 1 and 2 through a fresh round of 1-on-1 coaching
Join any (or all!) of the sessions as a:
Singer: Receive 15 mins of 1:1 personalised coaching with Kenogi or Owen (depending on the session and your needs)
Observer: Learn through assessing other singers’ voices together with Kenogi and/or Owen, gain insight through witnessing them resolve the issues of the singers, and participate in interactive discussions.
