POP DUETS: Group Singing Classes

Building upon Dr Darren Wicks' successful work with group singing back in April…
we want to keep giving you more opportunities to develop your harmony singing skills this June‐July!
In this series of classes, you will:
1. Join Mandopop Duets, English Pop Duets, or both of them on alternating weeks
Mandopop: We’ll start with 小酒窝 by JJ Lin and Charlene Choi (Weeks 1, 3, 4, 6 and 8*)
English Pop: We’ll start with Lucky by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat (Weeks 2, 3, 5, 7 and 8*)
(The lessons for Weeks 1 & 2 are completed, but you can still join us halfway, especially if we’re moving on to new songs.)
The songs are specially picked to cater to singers who are just starting to learn harmony. If you are looking for something more advanced, click here to be kept in the loop.
We will move on to a next song if the learning speed of the group is fast. If you’re struggling to keep up, supplementary private lessons (solo and duo) will be available!
(*Week 8 is a special session, where both groups will come together for a fun exchange & mini-showcase session)
2. In each class, be among 8-12 singers separated into 2 groups
Males / lower part
Females / higher part
We expect our participants to mostly comprise young adults.
3. Each group will learn how to sing 1 of a 2-part harmony song
You will sing the entire song as a whole group, plus get to partner up with 1-2 classmates from the other group to harmonise with.

2. We will move on to a second song if the learning speed of a class is fast. Some songs we’re looking at are 屋顶 & 小夫妻 for Mandpop, and Just Give Me A Reason & Say Something for English Pop. But we’re open to discussing it with those of you who are in the classes!
