COVID Protocol - 2023/2024
If you’ve been sent a link that brought you here, we unfortunately have a COVID situation in the studio. Sigh, it just doesn’t wanna go away, huh?
Protocol for when a coach has tested positive:
Option 1 (default): The lessons will be held online
If your coach is well enough to teach, your lesson will be held over Zoom (your coach will send you the Zoom link)
As most of our coaches have had experience with online lessons, both as students (as part of their training with international mentor teachers) and teachers, what you will experience is a format difference rather than a decline in your learning experience
Check out our blog post, “Do online singing lessons work?” to see examples of amazing remote (both phone and video call) singing lessons since 30 years ago! (one of them being Michael Jackson’s lesson with his coach Seth Riggs)
Option 2: Book your lesson with another coach
Your coach not being able to teach does not mean you can’t still have your lesson!
You may use the credits in your package to book with ANY of our other coaches
Since each of our coaches has different areas of specialisation, be sure to check with us to see who might be a good fit for whatever you are currently working on / want to work on
Option 3: Postpone your lesson
If you are okay with taking a break, you may reschedule your lesson to a future date
If you were notified by your coach less than 24 hours before your lesson, your coach / our admin will need to help you cancel it from the backend before you can use the credits to book a future timeslot or event
Based on the current guidelines from MOH (source), those who test positive:
Must self-isolate at home for at least 72 hours
If well, may exit self-isolation and resume normal activities upon a negative self-administered ART result
As an added precaution for the safety of all our students, our coaches will only resume teaching 2 days after the day they first test negative.
>> i.e. If they first test negative on Monday, they will keep on testing daily and only resume teaching on Wednesday if they still test negative.
If you wish for a longer buffer time before you resume in-person lessons, please let your coach know.
Your next step:
Decide which option you want to go for (1, 2 or 3) and update us in your WhatsApp groupchat!
P.S. Whether you’re having online lessons or not, this is definitely worth checking out: “Do online singing lessons work?”
